How to Uninstall Trend Micro Office Scan without the password

To uninstall Trend Micro Office Scan from a client computer without password you can use following 2 methods:


Method 1:
·         Search for the file called ofscan.ini. It is usually located in the 
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro Folder
·         Open the file using the notepad or any text reader and search for Uninstall_Pwd= 
·         The line should look something like this:
Uninstall_Pwd=!CRYPT!523F81805821877E0B01581347A29A8A78323082895

78B8F175DF692BF
·         Remove everything on the line that is behind Uninstall_Pwd=
·         After Uninstall_Pwd= write 70 it should look like this Uninstall_Pwd=70.
·         Save the file.
·         Go to Add Remove Program and uninstall Trend Micro OffieSan.
·         When prompted for the password enter 1 as the password

Method 2:

  • Disconnect the computer from the network.
  • Open regedit.
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.
  • Change the dword “Allow Uninstall” from 0 to 1
  • Use Add remove programs to uninstall Trend Micro.
  • Restart your computer.

How to Checkout Windows 10 Technical Preview on WMware Workstation

Windows 10 Technical Preview has been released for evaluation and feedback You can download the technical preview edition from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview

Sign-in to windows Insider program and download your copy of Windows 10 Technical Preview.

We are going to test this technical preview on WMware Workstation.

Start Vmware Workstation and File --> New Virtual Machine



Select Typical and click Next


Select installer disc image file (iso): and browse your Windows 10 Technical preview ISO file. Wmware will not understand the operating system and its the technical preview. Click Next.


Select Microsoft Windows and in version menu selece Windows 8 x64. Click Next


Set your virtual machine name and location. Click Next


Specify disk capacity to 80 GB and Select Split virtual disc into multiple files. Click Next


Click finish.


Open VM settings and set the memory to 3GB and Network Adapter to Bridged mode.


Start your virtual machine and you will have the first screen. Click Next to start the installation.


Click Install now.


Setup will start.


Accept License Terms and Click Next.


Select Custom "Install windows only (Advanced)"


Select the destination drive. Click Next.


Setup will start copying files.


Windows will restart


After Restart you will see windows is getting ready.


Click Use Express settings


Create a local Account and Sign-in with your Microsoft Account. And you will have following


Your Windows 10 Technical preview is up now. Install VMware tools.


Restart the PC after WMware tools installed. Now You can use Internet on Windows 10 Technical preview.

How To Install Exchange Server 2013 On Windows Server 2012 R2

Installing Exchange Server 2013 on Domain controller is not recommended. According to Microsoft We may face following issues
  • Configuring Exchange 2013 for Active Directory split permissions isn’t supported.
  • The Exchange Trusted Subsystem universal security group (USG) is added to the Domain Admins group when Exchange is installed on a domain controller. When this occurs, all Exchange servers in the domain are granted domain administrator rights in that domain.
  • Exchange Server and Active Directory are both resource-intensive applications. There are performance implications to be considered when both are running on the same computer.
  • You must make sure that the domain controller Exchange 2013 is installed on is a global catalog server.
  • Exchange services may not start correctly when the domain controller is also a global catalog server.
  • System shutdown will take considerably longer if Exchange services aren’t stopped before shutting down or restarting the server.
  • Demoting a domain controller to a member server isn’t supported.
  • Running Exchange 2013 on a clustered node that is also an Active Directory domain controller isn’t supported.
Microsoft recommend that you install Exchange 2013 on a member server.
In previous post we installed Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller. We need one more server for Exchange server. 
Fist of all we will assign IP Address to the new server and then join the Domain (Mydomain) We created in Previous post.

Our Domain Controller IP address is 192.168.46.6. We will assign 192.168.46.7 to Exchange server machine. Set The DNS server to Domain Controller IP as following.


Now open Exchange Server "This PC" Properties and click on Change Settings and click Change and in Member of sections select domain and type your domain name "mydomain" .



Press enter and this will ask you for an account with the permission to join the domain. Enter Domain Administrator credentials and click ok. The system will ask for restart to apply changes. Restart the system.


After restart sign-in with domain administrator account on MyEX2013 machine. 



you can see Server properties the FQDN name of the system will be "MyEX2013.mydomain.local" 


Next step is to prepare the server for Microsoft Exchange server 2013 Installation. We need to install following roles and features by using Windows PowerShell

Install-WindowsFeature AS-HTTP-Activation, Desktop-Experience, NET-Framework-45-Features, RPC-over-HTTP-proxy, RSAT-Clustering, RSAT-Clustering-CmdInterface, RSAT-Clustering-Mgmt, RSAT-Clustering-PowerShell, Web-Mgmt-Console, WAS-Process-Model, Web-Asp-Net45, Web-Basic-Auth, Web-Client-Auth, Web-Digest-Auth, Web-Dir-Browsing, Web-Dyn-Compression, Web-Http-Errors, Web-Http-Logging, Web-Http-Redirect, Web-Http-Tracing, Web-ISAPI-Ext, Web-ISAPI-Filter, Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console, Web-Metabase, Web-Mgmt-Console, Web-Mgmt-Service, Web-Net-Ext45, Web-Request-Monitor, Web-Server, Web-Stat-Compression, Web-Static-Content, Web-Windows-Auth, Web-WMI, Windows-Identity-Foundation, Telnet-Client, RSAT-ADDS

After running above commands the result will be the same as below.


Restart the computer and sign-in again with domain Administrator account.  





Now we are ready to go with Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Setup.

Open Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 right click Setup.exe and click Run as Administrator


On Next screen click "Don't check for updates right now" and click Next.


Setup will start copying files.


On Introduction page click next.


On License Agreement Page select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click Next.


On Recommended Settings Page select "Use recommended settings" and click Next.


On Server Role Selection Page Select your desired Server Roles. We will select both "Mailbox role" and "Client Access role" and leave selected "Automatically install Windows Server role and features that are required to install Exchange Server"  and click Next.


On Installation Space and Location page Select on which drive you want to install Exchange server or leave it default and click Next.


On Exchange Organization page Specify the name of your Exchange Organization and click Next. 


On Malware Protection settings page leave it enabled and click Next. 


On Next page Setup will configure the prerequisites. If everything is OK then click Install. 


Next page will show the Setup Progress.


After a while setup will be completed.



Restart your Server and you are now ready to test our Exchange Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2
There is no Exchange Management Console feature in Exchange 2013, We can access the Exchange Administration Center on URL "https://FQDN-Server-Name/ecp"
Log-in with Administrator account and you are ready to configure your Exchange Server or you can use Powershell too.


Set your Language and Time Zone and click save.


On the next page you will see all the options to configure your Exchange Server 2013

How To Install Domain Controller on Windows Server 2012 Step By Step

In previous post we installed windows server 2012 R2

Domain Controller
To install windows server 2012 Domain controller we will install ADDS (Active Directory Domain Services) role from server manager.

First we will change the Server name for domain controller lets say mydc and IP address 192.168.46.1


In This PC Properties click change settings and then click change and change the name to MyDC




Click ok and this will restart your server to apply changes. After reboot open Network and sharing center. Click Ethernet Adapter and click properties and select Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPV4) and then click properties. Set your desired IP address and click ok. 



Now Open Server Manager. Click add roles and features. 



Click Next



On Installation type page select the first option " Role based or feature based installation" and click next.



On Next page select the destination server and click next.



On Next page select "Active Directory Domain Services" and then click "Add Features" and then click next



On the “Select Features” Page, Group Policy Management feature automatically installed during the promotion. Click next.



On "Active directory Domain services" page Click next.




On "Confirm Installation Selections" Page Check "Restart the destination server if required automatically" and Click Install. 




After clicking “Install” the selected role binaries will be installed on the server




After “Active Directory Domain Services” role binaries have been installed and now it is time to promote the server to a Domain Controller.




In "Deployment Configuration" Select Add a New Forest and name your domain and click next


On "Domain Controller Options" Page Set Forest and Domain functional level leave checked DNS (Domain Name System), Set the password and click next.




Click next on DNS delegation page and Checks the NetBIOS name already assigned. Click next.






Specify the location of the AD related folders and then click next.




Summary Of All Installation Options/Selections.




Click View script for single command  line PowerShell script for dcpromo.



Before the actual install of AD, all prerequisites are checked. If All prerequisite checks are passed successfully then click Install.




When you click Install, DNS and the GPMC are installed automatically.




After the promotion of the server to a DC finished server restart automatically.
Once the server is booted and you logon to it with domain administrator, click on  Server Manager | Tools ,  will notice that following have been installed :
   •   Active Directory Administrative Center
   •   Active Directory Domains and Trusts
   •   Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell
   •   Active Directory Sites and Services
   •   Active Directory Users and Computers
   •   ADSI Edit
   •   DNS
   •   Group Policy Management

Now we have fully functional Windows server 2012 Domain Controller. 
That's it for now. Next we will install Microsoft Exchange server 2013 in this Domain using Windows server 2012 R2
