Configuring New Active Directory User for IBM Notes Email

We have installed Domino Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 in Windows server 2012 R2 Domain Environment and Also Installed Noes client on Windows 7 and domain controller itself with Active directory sysnc tool (Adsync).

How To install IBM Lotus Domino on Windows Server 2008 R2

Now as we can see in previous post the Active directory sync is enabled and IBM Domino options are listed in Active Directory Users and Computers.

Now Create a New User in Active Directory. Right Click Users - New - User

This will ask you for Notes Password. Enter your Domino Admin password and press Ok.

You will see following message.

Click Ok and you will see following. Enter User name

Click next and Set the password for the User. Click Next and you will see following Domino Options for new user. Set the same password for Domino too and click next

Click Finish

Enter the path for Certifier ID file and password. Click ok

This will synchronize user bilal.ghaffar with domino directory.

Add one more user like we did above. I have created user waqar.hafeez.
Now Logon to workstations with user bilal.ghaffar and waqar.hafeez. Run Notes Client.

Enter your name: bilal ghaffar
Domino Server: mymal/mydomain
click Next.

This will ask you for Password. Enter Password and click log in.

Leave every option default on next screen and click finish. Your Notes client will start.

Compose new email and send a test email to Waqar.hafeez

Received email at Waqar.hafeez mailbox

Now Reply to bilal

Received at Bilal.ghaffar inbox

Now its confirmed that emails are working fine. You can manage Email files for each user via Domino Administrator and a lot more.

Cheers :)
