In this demo we are going to install Oracle Linux 6 on VMware Workstation for Oracle software deployments.
We have successfully installed Oracle Linux 6 update 6 in VMware Workstation 12.
Lets view and verify Oracle user account details.
Set selinux to permissive.
[root@oel6 ~] # vi /etc/selinux/config
Disable the firewall
Now set the hosts file.
[root@oel6 ~] # vi /etc/hosts
Now the machine is ready for Oracle software deployments. We need to create users and groups as per Oracle software requirements before installing Oracles Database, Grid, ASM, RAC etc.....
