How to Install Microsoft Lync 2013 On Windows Server 2008 R2 (Part-1)

As we have done 2 Steps in (Part-2) till Setup or Remove Lync Server Components



  • Step 3 Request Certs
Click Run for Request, Install or Assign Certificate
Select Default Certificate and Click Request


Click Next


Select Send a request immediately to and online certification authority and click Next


It will detect Automatically the CA in our environment. Click Next


Click Next


Click Next


Assign a friendly name and Select Bit length as 2048 and Check the box “mark the certificate’s private key as exportable“. Click Next.




Organization Information: fill in Org and Org Unit
Geographical Information: fill in

Under Configured SIP domains, select MYDOMAIN.LOCAL. Click Next.



.
If you have any additional SAN names, you can add it here. Click Next



Click Next




Click Next and Click View Certificate Details. Click Finish



Click Next to Assign Certificate



Review the Certificate assignment Summary and Click Next.
Click finish to assign the certificate. 
Now repeat the Certificate Wizard steps for the OAuthTokenIsuer

Click Run to start the services and click Next



Now we have to verify lync services are running or not. Open Services.msc and verify that all lync Services are running. 



Check for Windows and Lync Updates, Download and Update all.
On The Front End Server Open Lync Control Panel to view and enable lync access to users.



This will ask you for Administrator Credentials. 



Now we have to add and enable Active Directory users for Lync Server. In Lync Server Control Panel Click on users and Then Click on Enable Users. 




Now we will add AD users to Lync. Click Add. 



Now download lync 2013 client which is part of Office 365 ProPlus Preview, you can download it from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/hh973391 and install on Client Machines. Try to login. 

User is Logged In to Lync.
