How to Install Microsoft Lync 2013 On Windows Server 2008 R2 (Part-3)
Before we continue to install Lync-Server we need to create Topology, Define topology and publish the topology. For this click start and open Lync server Topology builder.
Click New Topology and click OK
We will create a new Blank Topology and save it with a name "LyncTop.tbxml" and Click Save.
Provide the primary SIP domain,
Provide additional SIP domains if exist otherwise click next.
Provide the name of First Site. "First Lync Site" and Click Next
Specify the Site details and Click Next
The New Topology has been defined successfully. Click finish to open the Front End Server
Click Next
Select Standard Edition Server and Specify the FQDN of your Lync Server. and Click Next.
Check These Features
- Conferencing
- Enterprise Voice
- CAC
Click Next
We are not setting up any edge server so leave this unchecked and click next.
SQL Server Express Edition is installed with instance name rtc. Click Next
Select Define a new file store. Lets Create and Share a folder on Lync Server manually give permission to following groups.
- RTCHS Universal Services
- RTC Component Universal Services
- RTC Universal Server Admins
- RTC Universal Config Replicator
specify the shared folder name in the file share and click Next.
Specify the Web Services URL. For Example: lync.mydomain.local
We will not associate the Office WebApp Server Uncheck the Option and Click Finish
Now We are Finished with the Wizard.
Right click on “Lync Server 2013 and then “Edit Properties”
We will add the admin URL as https://admin.mydomain.local under Administrative Access URL and For Front End Server to install CMS on, Select Front End Server (FE.mydomain.LOCAL). Click OK.
Now We will Publish the Topology. Right Click the Lync Server and Clik Publish Topology.
Click Next
Select The Front End Server and Click Next.
The Topology has been published. Click Finish
Now we will install some Lync Server System components, put Certs in place and Start Services:
- Step1 Install RtcLocal database
- Step2 Install Speechfiles, etc.
- Setup Certs
- Start Lync Services
- Step1 Install Local Configuration Store (will install RtcLocal)
- Run
- Retrieve Directly from the CMS
The Local Configuration Store has been installed. Click Finish.
- Step2 Setup Lync Server components (will install Speechfiles, etc)
- Run |
- Next (15 minutes on new lab systems)
- (NOTE: if you designated the archive/monitoring server, this will fail because SQL for those stores is not there yet.)
